What Amber Renee Taught Me at Kramer Autoplex (And Why We’re Just Getting Started)

She may not realize how much she taught me

I am Steven Wilson, Sales and Social Media & Marketing Manager at Kramer Autoplex in Livingston, TX. I help buyers find and finance cars at Kramer, and I help people in Houston and East Texas figure out what they actually qualify for—good credit, bad credit, thin credit, or no credit. This post is not a FAQ expansion. It is about a person.

Amber Renee may not realize how much she has taught me.

In this business, real room for personal growth is rare. Plenty of people will show you how to work a deal. Fewer people will show you how to build a culture, how to show up on camera without pretending, and how to treat a customer like a neighbor instead of a ticket. Amber did that for me—not with a speech, with the way she works.

I am honored to call her my friend, my mentor, and my boss. Those three titles do not always live in the same person. At Kramer, they do.

Livingston is not a “content market” on paper

With her help, we grew the Kramer store in Livingston, Texas—a town of about 5,400 people.

That is not a marketing line. The U.S. Census Bureau’s QuickFacts for Livingston town, Texas puts the 2020 Census population at 5,640 and the July 1, 2025 population estimate at 5,386. Round it honestly: about 5,400.

Most stores that size do not build a public voice that travels. Amber helped change that.

The reach is rare for a store this size—here is what I will claim

I will only state what I can stand behind as my own claim about our social reach around that Livingston work and culture:

  • Facebook: about 22,000
  • TikTok: about 36,000
  • YouTube: about 30,000

I am not going to invent watch-time, engagement rates, or “viral” metrics I do not have in front of me. The point is simpler: for a Kramer store in a town of about 5,400 people, that kind of reach is rare. Amber’s on-camera work and the culture behind it are a big reason people know who we are before they ever walk a lot.

What “mentor” actually looked like day to day

Mentorship in car sales is often code for “watch me close.” That was not the useful part.

The useful part was standards:

  • Tell people where they stand in plain English.
  • Do not fake a monthly to win a handshake.
  • Show the work on camera the same way you show it on the driveway.
  • Protect the culture even when a shortcut would print faster.

I already tell customers on this site how I work the finance side: I shop each application across a wide lender network, including lenders that work with damaged or limited credit. I do not invent lender names, counts, or approval rates. Same-day standing on what you qualify for is typical, not a guaranteed approval. The first step is still name plus phone or email—about 20 seconds—and no credit check yet. Free delivery anywhere in Texas; nationwide delivery is available outside Texas.

Amber’s influence sits underneath that tone. Clear beats clever. Helpful beats hype.

Why this matters if you are shopping a car in Houston or East Texas

You are not buying a personality contest. You are buying a vehicle and a payment structure you can live with.

Still, culture leaks into the deal. Stores that treat content like a costume usually treat customers the same way. Stores that build a real voice in a small East Texas town tend to sweat the details—because their name is already on the internet before you arrive.

If you are in Houston, The Woodlands, Conroe, Livingston, Lufkin, Huntsville, Nacogdoches, or somewhere else in Texas and you want a straight answer on what you qualify for, that is the work I do every day. Live lot inventory is on the site. I will not invent stock, prices, or customer stories for a blog post.

We are just getting started

I mean that literally.

Making Kramer culture a household name is not a finished project. Amber’s mentoring got us further than a town of about 5,400 has any business reaching on paper. The next chapter is the same standard, more consistently, for more families who were told to wait, come back, or give up.

I am grateful. I am still learning. And I am not done.

Takeaway: Amber Renee taught me more than deal structure—she modeled growth, culture, and a public voice that fits a small East Texas Kramer store. If you want a clear read on what you qualify for, start on the homepage. No approval guarantees—just a real next step.
